Every calculator on The Roofing Manual produces an informational estimate built from the inputs you provide and assumptions that are displayed alongside the result. Estimates are not quotes, bids, appraisals, or guarantees. Real costs and quantities depend on conditions no calculator can see: the state of your decking, access, local code requirements, permit costs, product availability, and your local market. Before spending money, get a written assessment from a licensed, insured local contractor.

Not professional advice

• Not construction advice for your specific roof. Content here is general education. Roofs are individually weird; yours needs eyes on it.
• Not insurance, claims, or legal advice. The insurance claim readiness quiz and related guides reflect one contractor's field experience with storm claims. They do not predict or influence any carrier's decision, and they are not a substitute for your policy language, your agent, a licensed public adjuster, or an attorney.

We work to keep numbers current (cost data carries a review date, and our editorial policy requires expert review before publishing), but prices move and codes change by jurisdiction. If you spot something wrong, tell us.
