Privacy policy

This policy describes what The Roofing Manual (theroofingmanual.com) collects, why, and the choices you have. The honest summary: this is a static informational site. Our calculators run entirely in your browser and do not send us your inputs. The data practices that exist here come from analytics, advertising, and one optional lead form, all described below.

What we collect

Nothing, for the calculators

Numbers you type into our tools (roof size, costs, quiz answers) are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to us or stored by us.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage: which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, and what devices they use. IP anonymization is enabled. We do not use analytics to identify individuals.

Advertising

When advertising is active, this site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. For visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, a Google-certified consent management platform collects your consent choices before personalized ads are served.

The inspection request form

Some pages include an optional form to request a free roof inspection (name, phone, ZIP code). If you submit it, that information is sent to our lead-routing system so a local roofing professional can contact you about your request. That is its only use. We do not sell this information, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Email

If you email us, we keep the correspondence. That is what email is.

Cookies and your choices

• The consent notice on this site lets you decline analytics and advertising cookies; declining disables Google Analytics for your visit and skips loading ad scripts.

What we do not do

• No selling or renting of personal information.
• No accounts, no tracking pixels of our own, no data brokers.
• No collection from children; this site is not directed at children under 13.

Data requests

Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK, California, and other US states with privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. For anything covered here, including lead form submissions, email hello@theroofingmanual.com and we will handle it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the effective date above changes with it. Continued use of the site after changes means acceptance of the updated policy. Questions belong at the contact page.
